State Fair!! (with all the pictures at last!)
Today was the State Fair, my favorite holiday of the year!!!! :)
It was great!!!! Scott couldn't get off work, and we missed him, but everyone else was there.
Everyone got to do things they enjoyed. Jaymee and Katy went on the Ferris Wheel, Dianna, Katy and Jaymee went on the Bumper Boats, and Jonathan went on the Tilt-a-Whirl and the hang gliders. Jaymee, Jonathan and Katy went on the Bumper Cars. I got to eat corn on the cob, fried dough with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar, fried cheese lumps, and a candy apple!
Here's Jonathan (on the right) on the hang gliders:
Here we are taking a lunch break (note the leftovers of corn cobs!):

We can't forget the visit to the little duckies and chickies!!!

Rich, Jonathan and Jaymee left at about 1pm, and I took the girls to Kiddie Land, where they had a wonderful time with the leftover ride tickets! Those rides were perfect for both girls, especially since they had a hard time finding rides that weren't too scary in the main midway ride section.
Here they are on the dragon coaster and spinning hot air balloons:
We left about 2:30, and got home in just over 20 minutes, all eating candy apples as we went! Katy squeaked on the way home, to make up for the fact that she didn't buy one of those deafening squeaky trumpets this year!! She bought a bow and arrow set instead, and Dianna bought a horse with a coin purse in its back.

All in all, it was a fantastic day! I love the State Fair!!
(And the best part is, Scott and I are going again on Saturday!)

Skye,
Looks like sooo much fun for you and your gang!
I always liked going to the fair when my kids were young!

It certainly WAS fun! My favorite part (besides the food and the chickies) is watching the kids enjoy themselves. Even though I like going with Scott and being "free" to do and see what I want, I still enjoy it more when I'm with the kids. When they are happy, I'm happy too.
State Fair !

I could really go some corn right now ! And some of that dough strings covered in sugar - whatever that's called.
Was there pig racing ? Hoggy Jarrett ?
Hee hee! You are funny.
The dough strings are called funnel cake... yum yum! Jaymee's dough lumps were very similar to funnel cake (funnel cake is better, though!).
Yes, of course there was pig racing, and I'm sure Hoggy Jarrett featured prominently in it! However, we didn't watch it because the kids aren't that interested and don't have the patience to get there early for a good seat and wait twenty minutes. If you come over for next year's State Fair, though, I will make sure we get to watch pig races!
