I have made Amish bread!!

Yes, indeed. Today was finally the day, and I made the bread, and it turned out as I remember it! I was very happy. Here is the recipe I used to make the bread.

INGREDIENTS: 1 cup Amish bread starter
2/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 (9x5 inch) loaf pans. [This recipe doesn't mention it, but I coated the greased pans with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.] In a large bowl, combine the Amish bread starter with oil, eggs, 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well. Pour into prepared loaf pans. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes. [I baked mine at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.]

Everybody liked the bread, except Jonathan, who doesn't like anything new 95% of the time. And here is a picture, so you can see what it looks like:

I gave one cup of the starter to Terri, and I put the other 3-cup servings into the freezer to keep for another time. I gave half of one loaf to Rich, and the rest is for us to eat! :) I like Amish bread.
