Halloween 2007
A little late... here are our pictures from Halloween this year! The girls had a fun evening. Jaymee dressed up as a video game character (for the third year in a row!) - this time it was Zack, friend of Cloud. (Two years ago it was Cloud, and last year it was Orphen, I think.)
Dianna went as Hannah Montana. If you haven't yet been introduced to the craze of Hannah Montana, try visiting the Disney Channel on any weeknight at 5 and 7pm! The premise of the show is that an ordinary high school girl named Miley (or is it middle school? - she's only 14) has a double life as a pop star named Hannah Montana. All she does to disguise herself is put on a blonde wig when she wants to be Hannah, and for some reason nobody can tell she has the exact same face as Miley - HA! So Miley can be a superstar, yet still lead a normal teenage life without being swarmed by the media or given special treatment by people around her.
So Dianna went as Hannah, with a blonde wig (which I had to cut much shorter and take the braids off, as it was a "hippie girl" wig at the store!). Her face looks rather similar to Hannah's, but I had fun putting some sparkly eye makeup on her! Katy went as Lola Luftnagle, who is Miley's best friend Lilly in disguise (so Lilly can hang around with Miley when she's dressed as Hannah). Lola always wears crazy-colored wigs! Usually purple, but sometimes pink or red, and I think even green. Her choice of clothing, jewelry and makeup is usually very tacky. So Katy has a purple wig (which I had to cut to the right short length) and makeup from Dianna's kiddie makeup set!
Scott went as Tuxedo Mask, the love interest of the cartoon character Sailor Moon. I think he just wanted an excuse to put on his wedding tux again!! :) He made a funny white "mask" out of foam and attached it to his glasses, and he was ready to go.
So, we trick-or-treated through most of the neighbourhood, and the girls ended up with tons of candy as usual! I'm sure it will take an alarmingly short period of time for it all to disappear!
I ran into Stephanie that evening, and she didn't look well at all. (She's the one whose 34-yr-old husband died suddenly back in August.) Terri told me she'd been having a really rough time lately, so I've been trying to help her out the past couple of days. She's been sick, not eating properly, and now she's just found out that her father will be having emergency surgery tomorrow to remove a blood clot in his neck, and that he might not survive the surgery. Since her father is about her favorite person in the world, and since her husband died from a blood clot, she is freaking out. Poor girl... how much suffering does one person have to go through??? I really hope all will go well tomorrow. Anyone out there who believes in prayer, please say one for Stephanie and her dad.
