Career Advancement
Right now I am going through Scott's book and doing a final spelling/grammar edit. I've given myself the rest of this week to do it, and whatever I don't finish by then... oh well! It needs to get out there and be published. He's only been working on it for 15 years! Of course, he's also written the whole second book in the series, and started the third, so it's not like he's been lazy about it! He's just spent a lot of time tweaking things to make it just right. So, on Monday he'll finally send it in to the publishers, and I want to get as much editing in as I can before then. Not that the story won't speak for itself, but every little thing helps toward giving the best possible impression to the publishers.
On Saturday I'll have my day-long CPR and First Aid training, as the first step toward my new career as a full-time child-care provider. Oh wait... haven't I had that career for almost eleven years now?! :) Anyway, I'm both nervous and excited to be stepping into the world of paid employment for the first time in many years. My friend Terri says that her friend's daughter is pregnant, and will be wanting to go back to work as a hairdresser after the baby is born. I know the family, as I used to be the daughter's youth leader at church a few years ago. So perhaps that will help to recommend me to them, and if she is able/willing to pay me a reasonable amount (I still need to find out what is reasonable, though I mostly just need money for health insurance), then I may soon be in business!!
